A Polícia dinamarquesa deteve nesta sexta-feira (11), 67 pessoas durante diferentes protestos a favor da Cúpula das Nações Unidas sobre Mudanças Climáticas (COP15), na véspera de uma grande manifestação convocada para o sábado (12) na cidade.
A maior parte dos detidos, de diferentes nacionalidades, foi detida por ter se negado a seguir as instruções dos agentes, informou a Polícia.
As detenções aconteceram em um dia de protestos contra grandes companhias acusadas de contribuir com suas emissões com a poluição mundial, batizada “Don’t Buy the Lie” (Não Compre a Mentira).
Os ativistas percorreram o centro da capital dinamarquesa gritando palavras de ordem e colando cartazes contra diferentes empresas, mas a forte presença policial impediu que os protestos passassem para maiores conflitos.
A Polícia e os organizadores (mais de 516 grupos ambientais, sindicatos e outras afiliações de 67 países) calculam que a manifestação de amanhã reunirá pelo menos 50 mil pessoas, o que a tornaria o maior protesto em anos na Dinamarca, um país de apenas 5,5 milhões de habitantes.
O protesto sairá do Parlamento às 14h locais (11h, no horário de Brasília) e terminará em frente ao Bella Center, palco da COP15, em cujo exterior serão pronunciados discursos e haverá atuações musicais.
